Summer is by far my favorite season. I love sitting out by the pool, tan lines, bikini shopping, beach vacations, and much more. However, summer brings heat (any Texas people reading? you know THE heat I’m talking about) which means it’s very very very important to stay hydrated. Dehydration is very high in the summer because you tend to sweat more causing your body to probably lose more fluid than it is taking in.
I don’t know about you but when I have a busy day it is so hard for me to remember to eat, let alone pause for water. However, staying hydrated has many advantages, including beautiful skin, having energy and much more….so it’s very important to pay attention to how much water you intake a day.
Here are three tips that help me remember to drink water throughout the day a little easier:
- Drink water with meals. You should at least eat three times a day (unless you’re like me and snack about 5 times and then have your major three meals) so instead of ordering a soda…order water. Did you know that drinking water during a meal helps break down your food and helps your body absorb the nutrients more easily?
- Add Flavors. I know plain water can get so boring so why not change it up by adding some flavors and fruits. I personally like kiwi, lemon, or strawberries.
- Always carry a water bottle with you. (Like this cute little mybkr bottle.) I take this water bottle everywhere. It is chic, fashionable, and always reminds me to drink water.
