Happy New Year everyone! I took the whole month of January off from blogging just to refocus and get settled into my new apartment. However, I am glad to be back! I am honestly so excited for this year.
Since this is my first blog post for 2019…I felt like writing a “life update” blog post. I always enjoy reading these types of posts from other bloggers so I thought I would share with you what I have been up to and a few plans for the near future.
The biggest change in my life recently has been moving to a different city and starting a new job. *Let’s rewind for a minute to those who don’t know.* Last year I was living in College Station and loved it. It was my first time being out of my parents house and on my own. I lived with my step sister and worked at the Hilton College Station in Sales. Although, I made great friends and enjoyed my time in Cstat…I just knew it wasn’t the town for me and decided to move when my apartment lease was up. I then moved back in with my parents and focused on sponsorships for my Instagram while trying to figure out where I wanted to live and work in the DFW area. Very thankful and blessed for family members that allowed me to live with them during this time.
Towards the end of 2018, I was offered a position to work for Hilton Southlake in the sales department and moved into my first own apartment. I am finally unpacked, settled, and loving my new place and city!
Why I took a month break from blogging
As you know, I took a break from blogging in the month of January and limited my time on social media. It was much needed and allowed me to refocus. Also, if it wasn’t for already agreeing to collaborations for Instagram…I would have taken the whole month off of social media. I felt like everything I was doing was “for the blog” and that I needed to share everything on social media…which was taking away from “being present in the moments.” I would constantly stay on my phone checking my blog email, responding to DMs, posting my entire life on my story, and etc. I knew it wasn’t healthy and needed to just refocus if I was going to continue blogging.
What you can expect from me this year
I did a poll a couple weeks ago on Instagram to see how often y’all wanted to see blog posts and twice a month won. Luckily, with the time off I was able to plan most of the posts already..so I’m definitely excited to share them with y’all!
If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you definitely should. http://www.instagram.com/gabbie26
That’s where I post the most. Daily Instagram stories, sponsored posts (which include discount codes for my followers), and regular posts of my life. You can also expect more home decor, fitness, beauty, and “real life” posts this year.
Anyways, that’s all I have to say at the moment. So thank you for following along and I cannot wait to share more with y’all this year!
